Easter in Zakopane this year captures attention from a distance. Large-scale egg-shaped decorations have appeared across the city, introducing colour, lightness and a clearly defined festive character. It is a project that not only decorates the space but also naturally reflects the atmosphere of the city and its traditions.

Tradition in a contemporary form
The most distinctive elements are decorations inspired by traditional Easter egg patterns. The designs on the fiberglass eggs reference local motifs, introducing a strong regional character into the space.
Some of the decorations were additionally personalised by residents – monochromatic forms were hand-painted, featuring plant motifs, symbols and even the city’s crest. This gives the project a more personal dimension and makes it more closely connected to the local community.

Different forms, one cohesive effect
The installation created for Easter in Zakopane combines several types of decorations that together create a cohesive yet diverse urban composition. Alongside lightweight openwork forms, there are solid fiberglass eggs as well as modular structures made of dibond panels.
This combination ensures that the space is not uniform – it changes depending on perspective and light. Some elements are bold and colourful, while others are more subtle and lightweight, resulting in a composition that feels natural and effortless.

Easter in Zakopane as a social space
Decorations placed throughout the city quickly become natural meeting points and photo backdrops. As a result, Easter in Zakopane gains not only a visual but also a social dimension. The colourful forms attract attention without overwhelming the space – instead, they complement and enliven it.
Additional elements, such as a decorative Easter bunny, introduce a sense of lightness and make the overall composition feel more approachable. This is an example of how a relatively small intervention can significantly transform the perception of a place and give it a clear seasonal identity.
