Winter is a time when public spaces take on a new character. As days grow shorter and cities prepare for festive events, decorations that introduce warmth and highlight the unique atmosphere of the season become especially important. More and more cities are turning to flower towers for this purpose – structures well known from spring and summer displays, which in winter become an impressive base for green and festive arrangements.

Flower towers in their winter version
Although most commonly associated with the summer season, flower towers work just as well as winter decorations. Their cascading steel structure allows for the creation of stable compositions using natural spruces, fir trees or mixed evergreen plants. These species are resistant to frost and wind, and once planted, they form dense, green structures that remain visually appealing and vibrant for many weeks. This allows cities to enjoy decorations that are natural, durable and visually striking at the same time.

Christmas tree toppers – a quick transformation into festive trees
An increasingly popular solution is the use of Christmas Tree toppers, which can be mounted directly onto cascading structures or Gianto planters, depending on the selected model and height. These ready-made, cone-shaped forms resemble traditional Christmas trees and only require placement and decoration.
A wide range of sizes makes it easy to match the topper to almost any flower tower, while the steel frame and certified spruce garland ensure stability and resistance to challenging winter conditions. These toppers are particularly practical in locations where quick installation and consistency of decorations are essential. Thanks to them, cities can create a cohesive and elegant festive visual line in a very short time.

Winter inspiration from Polish cities
This year’s installations clearly show how flower towers can become an effective base for festive arrangements in urban spaces during winter.
In Łagów, dense compositions made of natural evergreens dominate, complemented by baubles and bows that create compact, decorative forms. In Zaniemyśl, flower towers were used as structural elements for more elaborate festive installations – from classic evergreen arrangements to themed decorations, including compositions styled as Santa Claus.

Meanwhile, cities such as Wągrowiec, Świnoujście and Oława opted for lighter, more minimalist compositions using natural branches and subtle colour accents. These arrangements introduce a winter atmosphere while preserving the natural rhythm and visual balance of the urban landscape.

Year-round decorations that evolve with the seasons
Winter arrangements in flower towers highlight one key advantage: this is a solution that can decorate cities all year round. In spring, pansies take over; in summer, cascading petunias appear; in autumn, heathers and chrysanthemums dominate; and in winter, natural evergreens or Christmas tree toppers come into play. This multi-seasonal flexibility makes flower towers not just decorative elements, but an important part of creating cohesive, attractive and welcoming public spaces.
